The City of New York
Office of the Mayor New York, NY 10007

Dear friends!

Dear Friends, Congratulations to the future winners of the 2nd annual AdVision Awards! Ever since S.M. Pettingill became the first agent to prepare his own advertisements – paving the way for the agencies that produce today’s captivating campaigns – New York City has been the world’s advertising capital. And, of course, we are the world’s most diverse City, where 170 languages are spoken and men and women from every background live side-by-side in mutual respect. This celebration of the world’s very best Russian-language advertising is a testament to our City’s thriving Russian community, and to our continued leadership in the global media.

On behalf of the residents of New York City, I commend Global Advertising Strategies for hosting this event. I join all those gathered here in celebrating another great year of incredible innovation, and look forward to even more success coming up next.

Sincerely,

Michael R. Bloomberg,
Mayor

We are pleased to witness how various businesses, as well as public organizations, from the United States, Canada and Israel, participate in promoting Russian-speaking communities’ spiritual and business connections with Russia. We are especially pleased to note that this year the competition presents a wide range of advertising agencies from Russia, which explicitly demonstrates mutual interest of professional organizations in this field.

We welcome and support the initiative and the efforts of Global Advertising Strategies, the company that has conceived the project that brings together members of the arts community, as well as business, media and advertising professionals representing Russian-speaking communities from all over the world.

It is quite symbolic that the competition is being held in the year of the 200th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Russia and the United States of America.

On behalf of the organizers of the international competition of Russian- language television advertising,AdVision Awards, I am honored to welcome all participants and guests.

For the second consecutive year, Global Advertising Strategies brought together Russian TV channels, PR and advertising agencies specializing in Russian and CIS markets, and Russian-speaking communities from all over the world.

Last year our primary goal was to show the business potential of the Russian-speaking advertising market abroad, raise the bar on TV advertising quality, and draw attention to ethnic advertising markets. Amazingly, even though the competition is only a year old, the list of our sponsors and judges of the competition already includes representatives of leading advertising associations and international companies. Moreover, we are very pleased that this time we received applications not only from the United States, Israel and Canada but also from Russia. It is a clear indication that the golden AdVision statuette is regarded by many international companies as a symbol of professional excellence and recognition of industry achievement.

We thank you for your continuing support and contribution to the competition process, and wish all of you success in your professional and creative endeavors.

Yours respectfully,

Givi Topchishvili President
CEO
